Our Program

Hawaii Youth Maritime Program, Inc (a 501(c)3) is an IRS designated charity with the mission of building character through seamanship. We provide, maintain and insure the vessels used in the Kauai Sea Scouting program. We work with Kauai youth (male and female) ages 12-18.  We are all about ships:  Seamanship, Leadership, Citizenship and Friendship.  We use our boat as an educational training platform to teach the youth of Kauai as we take every opportunity to cruise the Hawaiian Islands. 

We learn and have fun doing it. From short 3 days cruises to our longest cruise of 24 days, we explore the Hawai'ian islands. The program is built around adults teaching and being a resource and the crew actively running the ship.  From cooking,  running the helm, standing watch, pulling the anchor,  navigating, tying lines or doing fenders, our ship is in good hands with our Sea Scout crew.
